This accolade celebrates our innovative strides in medical imaging technology, recognized for its speed, clarity, and revolutionary impact on doctor-patient connections and surgical planning.
HoloXmed, a groundbreaking solution developed by Clinical AI Consulting Group in collaboration with Prof. Chien-Chang Lee and utilizing HoloLens 2® technology, transforms 2D CT scans into 3D holograms. This innovation allows for enhanced accuracy and efficiency in medical imaging, providing an unprecedented tool for healthcare professionals worldwide. The technology can be used for complex diagnoses, surgical planning for brain aneurysms, patient surgery explanations, remote consultations, and surgical navigation.
Prof. Lee has developed a low-operational-cost system that can complete the process within 30 minutes, turning 2D CT scans into segmented and 3D reconstructed holograms. These are then projected into the metaverse as holographic images, leveraging the clarity and interactive experience of HoloLens 2®. The success of HoloXmed highlights Prof. Lee’s achievements in interdisciplinary research, combining medicine, engineering, and information technology to bring more precise and intuitive tools to medical education and services.
Prof. Lee stated, “The innovation of HoloXmed aims to break through the limitations of traditional medical models, providing more humanized and efficient medical services.” This vision has garnered unanimous recognition from medical experts and the technology community.
The Edison Awards™, named after the legendary inventor Thomas Alva Edison, are among the most esteemed accolades in the world, recognizing excellence in new product and service development, marketing, human-centered design, and innovation. The rigorous selection process, conducted by a distinguished Steering Committee and an executive judging panel of over 2,000 senior business executives, academics, and past winners, underscores the significance of this achievement. The award ceremony took place at the Edison Awards Gala on April 18, 2024, in Fort Myers, FL, celebrating HoloXmed’s contribution to medical technology.
